The rise of social media algorithms has drastically altered how information is consumed, particularly by Generation Z and Alpha, who primarily engage with news and media through short-form videos on platforms like TikTok, YouTube and Instagram. These platforms are increasingly flooded with propaganda, disinformation, and astroturfing efforts aimed at undermining democratic institutions and supporting autocratic, illiberal, xenophobic, homophobic and anti-green agendas.

Besides the targeted radicalisation campaigns there is also a growing number of young people who are “tuning out” from socially engaged topics and becoming increasingly “black-pilled” about the future of our planet.

Our goal is to establish a long-term framework for empowering the next generation of digital communicators who are committed to values such as rule of law, freedom of speech, climate justice, and human rights. We will equip young creatives with the skills needed to effectively address global challenges such as inequality, sustainable development, and gender equality through modern online formats and to become socially engaged multiplicators and innovators.

Our incubator for civil society influencers will conduct several intensive workshops where participants will be trained in the creation of impactful content, focusing on short-form vertical videos, podcasts, and live-streaming, centered on global issues, citizen journalism, organizing civic campaigns and social advocacy.

Our plan is to produce 80 short videos, dealing with socially, globally and environmentally relevant current topics and affairs, reaching over 100.000 viewers.
